The 13th China International Trademark Brand Festival, jointly organized by the China Trademark Association, the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, and the People’s Government of Dongguan City, was grandly held in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, from June 16 to 19, 2023. Under the theme “Trademark Empowerment for New Development, Brands Leading Dual Circulation,” the Festival featured the 17th China Trademark Annual Conference, the 2023 China Brand & Trademark Expo, and a series of themed events. Entrusted by the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI), Gary Wu from Beijing Kangrui Law Firm attended the Festival on behalf of FICPI.
This year’s China Trademark Annual Conference focused on trademark and brand creation, protection, utilization, management, and services. Nearly 30 forums and salon sessions were held, featuring speeches from more than 230 Chinese and foreign guests, and attracting nearly 2,000 participants from China and abroad. The 2023 China Brand & Trademark Expo brought together more than 700 domestic and international exhibitors. Covering 20,000 square meters, the Expo consisted of three major exhibition zones—Commodity Brand & Trademark Exhibition, Service Brand & Trademark Exhibition, and Geographical Indication Products Exhibition—with over 550 booths and a total of nearly 50,000 visits.
During the Festival, Gary Wu participated in several forums and salon sessions, including the 8th China Brand Economy Forum, the Forum on Trademark and Brand Empowerment for High-Quality Development in Dongguan, and the Seminar on Practical Issues and Prospects of Alternative Dispute Resolution for Intellectual Property Disputes. He also visited booths of intellectual property agencies from China, the United States, Europe, South Korea, India, Singapore, and other regions, and engaged in discussions with representatives from domestic and international IP agencies and exhibiting enterprises.
Gary Wu also met and exchanged views with President Ma Fu of the China Trademark Association during the event. His attendance as FICPI’s representative is expected to help further promote cooperation between FICPI and the China Trademark Association.
